Vancouver’s food scene is great. Moreover, Vancouver’s vegetarian and vegan food scene is great. And MeeT, with its several locations, is a notable part of this.
For my main dish, I opted to try the Mighty Mac, their veggie burger with (vegan) mac’n’cheez, lettuce, tomato, pickled jalapeños, chipotle mayo, and crispy onion strings. It was quite nice. The mac was a fun addition that added to the delightful mix of textures. The crunchy bits stayed crunchy throughout. My one criticism is that the patty seemed a bit on the dry side to me, though that was offset by the mac and the mayo. It was also quite messy; I opted to eat this one with a knife and fork. The side salad was generous and tasty as well.
Two friends joined me for this meal, neither of whom are vegetarian. And they both loved their food! We shared some poutine to start — MeeT offers several varieties — and it was a delicious and satisfying first Canadian meal for one of my friends. I know I’ll be back and won’t hesitate to bring others along. When the weather is nice, it’s lovely to sit in their outdoor area. And, they have a few other veggies burgers for me to try!
